Krakow Photo Fringe 2014

Krakow Photo Fringe is an initiative that brings together photographic events held in parallel with Krakow Photomonth. The Krakow Photomonth Festival has been creating an extraordinary energy in the city over the years, engaging and inspiring the organisation of additional accompanying events in the field of photography. It is time to make a selection of the most valuable initiatives and gather them under the umbrella of the synergistic project Krakow Photo Fringe.

At the beginning of June 2013, the first Fringe was co-organised by the Foundation for the Visual Arts and the Lablab Foundation. The goal of the organisers was to present a wide spectrum of artistic initiatives, upgrade external propositions, and promote events taking place in parallel with the photographic festival efficiently. Dozens of cultural institutions, galleries, and organisations expressed the desire to join the Krakow Photo Fringe 2013 programme of events, which resulted in more than 30 exhibitions, more than a dozen meetings with artists, and a wide range of workshops. A variety of attractions waited for visitors, including an exhibition of large-format Polaroids, an exhibition of photographs from the collection of Count Karol Lanckoroński, a presentation of the latest books from the Sputnik Photos collective, and instant photography workshops led by Bownik.

All information about the events can be found at www.krakowfringe.com, on the fanpage www.facebook.com/KrakowPhotoFringe, and in printed schedules distributed throughout the city. The Krakow Photomonth festival office was kept informed of openings and events held in the Krakow Photo Fringe 2013.

The second Krakow Photo Fringe will be held between 15 May and 15 June. We invite institutions, galleries, artists, entertainers and all those whose passion is photography and visual arts to participate. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the cultural map of Krakow and join celebration of Krakow’s photo festival.
